Spring Is Here Time to repot- the orchids

Here is a few tips

  1. Wash the roots thoroughly to  remove all of the old potting mix.
  2. Use a good quality potting mix.
  3. One mix does not suit all types of orchids, select the right mix for each orchid. Orchid Den specialises in making the right mix for each type of orchid.
  4. Always wet the potting mix , never pot with a dry mix.
  5. Add liquid plant of health plant starter,  multi crop plant starter, or liquid seaweed to the mix,  these products will assist in establishing new root growth.
  6. Sprinkle root extender on to the roots of plant, to encourage root growth.
  7. Attach the plant to a stake and insert the point of the stake into a small polystyrene block.
  8. The styrene foam block will assist in holding the plant firmly in the mix and the stake will give you something to hang onto during the addition of the potting mix.
  9. Place the plant inside the pot and slide it down the stake to position it in the pot.
  10. Place the potting mix firmly around the plant.,
  11. Add a slow release fertiliser,  Orchid Den recommends Organic Link.
  12. Cut the stake off so that it does not protrude above the height of the plant.
  13. Label your plant.
